Night Curve Maxi Dress // 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Minute Quilted Bubble Clutch // Rag & Bone Floppy Fedora // Jeffrey Campbell Sandals // Wasteland and Free People Necklace // Vanessa Mooney, Pamela Love, and Brandy Melville Bracelets

I wasn't even sure if I would be able to do an outfit post this weekend because I went fishing and usually lounge around in pjs and crocs all day long. I was supposed to be at San Clemente Island for 3 days, but we ran out of electricity on the boat so our trip was cut short over 24 hours early. I still had a very fun weekend and spent my time hanging out with Sean and my friends from college.

For this outfit I decided to wear black, the color I'm most comfortable wearing. I ordered this maxi dress off Nasty Gal and the best part about it is its length. I'm usually doing some free floor sweeping every time I wear a maxi, but this one is surprisingly the perfect length and doesn't drag. To complete the outfit, I threw in some earthy tones and wore the same jewelry you probably see on my blog way too much. Anyway, hope you guys have been enjoying this awesome Socal weather and come visit my blog again soon!

Here's an outfit of me at my maximum output of girliness. I'm not much of a pink or ruffle person, but strangely I combined the two in one day. Here are some fun shorts by Zara that short of look like lettuce leaves in the front. There were some black ones available as well, but I thought it would be harder to see the details since they are so dark. I picked up the Lotus top at For Love & Lemon's sample sale last weekend and I love how the neckline dips down at the center. Okay, enough being a fairy! Can't wait to show you me next outfit post.

Pajama Party Pants

Rehab Star Harem Pants c/o 2020AVE // H&M Faux Leather Vest // For Love & Lemons Pacifico Crop Top // Isabel Marant Gwen Pumps // Low Luv x Erin Wasson Crescent Necklace // Pamela Love Serpent Bangle // Balenciaga Classic First // Vanessa Mooney Bracelets // Vintage Necklace

These pants may be the craziest pair I own, but I thought the star print was really fun and  what caught my eye. The material and drop crotch makes them so comfy, I think I could fall asleep in them if I tried. I'm also wearing my snake bangle, and what I find shocking is that it hasn't been seen on my blog more often. I have stacks of cheap bangles that I wear on my upper arm, but they stain my skin on hot days so I decided to invest in a nice one earlier this year. I snagged the last limited edition rose gold one on Pamela Love's site for a whopping $450. This is definitely my most reckless, late night purchase to date. Damn you late night delirium, I'm almost positive I ordered this past 2 am. I semi regret it, but I was born in the year of the snake and love reptiles so those two reasons were enough to sway my decision. It's an amazing piece of jewelry, no doubt, I'm just still feeling the burn from that purchase.

The Morocco Maxi

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I'm so excited about this outfit post featuring my holy grail dress, the ever so elusive Morocco maxi from For Love & Lemons. This dress seems so impossible to find, but it is  now somehow sitting in my closet. I also got the tank top version in this color which I am also freaking out about. The fabric is an insanely cool silk velvet burnout and the double slits make it an appropriate modern day loin cloth as my friend, Deborah, would say. These thigh high slits are changing the game and my legs are feeling so much freedom. I don't know why I hadn't hopped on this bandwagon and now I need to find some solid colored skirt versions. I have never felt so exposed and covered up at the same time.

I styled the dress with my Dr. Martens and shearling coat to give it that Girl Interrupted vibe, but I think it would go with anything, really. This is how I chose to wear the dress since it was during the day, but I would definitely wear some kick ass heels and adorn every appendage of my body with chunky jewelry for a night time look.

One Teaspoon Celtic Knit // Deandri Helga // Free People Necklace // Low Luv x Erin Wasson Necklace // Vintage Necklace

This is my lazy style, wearing something plain and piling on the jewelry. My hands are hidden, but I also stacked on bracelets and rings today. I was definitely annoyingly clanking all day long like a little triangle.

The socks were inspired by my boyfriend who is always wearing those black Active socks. I like how they look on him, so I thought I'd give my outfit some boyish flair. I'm also wearing my favorite knit ever! I was drowning in it when I first got it because it was so big, but after about 10 washes it seems like it's finally starting to shrink. I'm not even sure if it's supposed to be a dress - it may possibly be a sweater. But anyway, it feels so good to wear a dress that doesn't wrinkle. See how I styled it back in February by clicking here!

Apartment Browsing in DTLA

I was obsessed with this Cuban Maxi Dress when I saw it online and now that I've worn it out, I'm super obsessed with it. I first saw it on Nasty Gal and I was intrigued because I had no idea what it was or what category it could fit into. To me it's like a sleeved, waisted kimono or robe with an old hollywood glamor feel to it. Today I wore it with pants, but I think it has a lot of potential since it can be worn buttoned or maybe with a mini dress underneath.

I've already worn these leather pants a bunch of times on my blog, but I think this just confirms how versatile a pair of black leather pants can be and that they are a staple 'must have' in anyone's closet. In case you missed my DIY post on them, you can click here and if you want to see the other ways I styled them, click here or here.

One Teaspoon Paisley Dress // Target Belt // Free People Faux Shearling Coat // Free People Necklace

My lovely friend, Michelle, took these pictures for me today. We got lost in LA and stumbled upon some of ROA's artwork on a random street we turned into. It was the inspiration and motivation for this post. I wasn't planning on taking pictures today, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to shoot at a super cool location. She kindly took me back to my car so I could pick up my camera and take pictures after we chatted over some yummy matcha green tea lattes.

I had been stalking this dress for months because it is completely my style and I couldn't get it out of my head. Feminine and girly in an unconventional way, and in a print I can totally appreciate. Paisley and leopard combined into one?? What genius thought of this and why isn't this done more often? The dress would have came out to $175 with shipping from Australia so I told myself that if it ever went 50% off, I would buy it for myself. Lo and behold! One Teaspoon had an online warehouse sale with the lowest prices in 13 years. Luckily, my friend discovered the sale before it was posted on Instagram so I was able to buy this dress for $30 before it sold out in an x-small.

Thank You Michael Stars!

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

I recently received a package that was full of Michael Stars clothing and this amazingly soft tomato dress was included. Thank you Lindsey, Kelly, Gina, and everyone at Michael Stars for your generosity! When I saw the dress, I immediately thought of pairing it with my Theyskens' Theory leather jacket. Stripes are such a classic - you can't go wrong throwing on a moto jacket and wayfarers.

I'm also wearing my Gava pumps, which are my favorite heels ever and what fueled my Isabel Marant addiction. They have a 5 inch heel with zero platform, so they look pretty nuts from the side. People stop to ask me about these heels every time I wear them out and I definitely think they are more special than any red soled shoe out there. I'm taking these babies to the grave.
