Ode to No Doubt

Today I am wearing my anchor necklace for sort of the first time. I saw Gwen Stefani wearing it on the cover of Elle Girl back when I was in 6th grade and I begged my mom for it. I was literally obsessed with Gwen Stefani, I even have a shrine dedicated to her at my house to this day. When I was in college I let a girl borrow it for her halloween costume, she never returned it, and then disappeared off the face of the earth (DAMN YOU SONIA). Like how do you even avoid a person when you use social networks like Facebook. Anyway, if you want to learn how to avoid people, just ask Sonia cause she's an expert. I mean, an apology would have sufficed, but whatever. After years of beating myself up for even letting someone borrow something that had so much meaning to me, I decided to just buy it again. Lo and behold, White Trash Charms went out of business. Okay... So fast forward another year of sadness to September 2013. I checked eBay and I found some WTC jewelry which led me to a sketchy looking site which is now owned by the person who owns the license for WTC. It finally arrived in the mail and it's exactly the same as the one I used to have so now I officially have found some peace of mind.

The end.

Silence + Noise Sheer Dolman-Sleeve Tee Dress // American Apparel Opaque Stockings // Free People Faux Shearling Denim Coat // Dr. Martens 1460 Boot //  Fantas Eyes Round Sunglasses // Miu Miu Bag

No pants + oversized shirt = freedom! I wore my favorite Lululemon stretchy shorts underneath this shirt, which is what I usually wear under all my small dresses. It's so crazy because people wear these shorts with just a tank to the gym and I have no idea how people are so brave since they ride up like no other. Anyway, I've always struggled to find over the knee socks that actually fit my legs comfortably so I was pretty stoked to find these super opaque stockings from American Apparel. They are pretty solid and not as bulky as regular socks so I think I have found my new alternative.

Three of Something

Just another lazy Los Angeles day. Don't let the blue skies fool you, it was fuh-reezing! Just kidding, it was only a little chilly, but I haven't quite adjusted to the recent weather change yet. I'm wearing a new knit cardi from Three of Something, an Australian brand that is making its way to the American market. Perfect timing, it is sweater weather! They have lots of bold, colorful pieces, but the cardi stood out to me the most because it's practical and I can see myself wearing it for just about any occasion.

I am also on a new mission to find the perfect platforms! Ever since I got my Celine clogs, I realized that I can wear heels all day if they are relatively flat. The only problem is that I still have to take them off every time I drive and the buckle straps are driving me insane. It sounds so trivial, but yes, driving stick shift is kinda throwing off my shoe game. So many pretty shoes just sitting in my closet because they take forever to put on. I am having flashbacks of all the times I valeted my car in dtla and the attendants just stared at me as I strapped my feet back into some ridiculous leather contraptions. I thought these Office ones would be perfect, but the suede makes it a little hard to loosen up the laces so I am back to square one. Still on the hunt for some comfy platforms that do not require two hands to put on and take off.

Westwood Minky

Making black interesting is always a struggle since it's so hard to see little details on a dark color. I'm a huge fan of the all black look, and playing around with different textures and opacities is a fun challenge. This sheer maxi makes it easy and although I'm wearing all black, I definitely think you can still see what's going on in this outfit. I jumbled it up with lots of silver jewelry and wore my cream Chanel bag that my grandma gave me since I needed a pop of color. I'm also wearing a new fedora that I am super stoked on since my Rag & Bone one is long gone. This one is a lot more flexible and surprisingly fits my small head very well. The crocodile embossed band is nice touch!
